Signal-and-align only replaces selling
when you can afford to let the misaligned walk.
The precondition
Most commerce runs on an unspoken requirement: that you do not know who you are.
Needs, wants, and desires are not weaknesses. They are the architecture of capture. Commerce is engineered to meet them — needs met, wants handled, desires fulfilled — and in doing so, to hold all of your attention inside a closed loop that presents itself as life itself.
Sovereign activity begins only after all three layers have already been completed. Not suppressed. Not transcended. Completed. The generative loop is not available below that threshold — not because it is withheld, but because the preconditions do not exist.
This is self-selective by design. The mind that is still chasing fulfillment cannot operate here. The one that has crossed that gate can do nothing else.
What this is
Most commerce runs on persuasion: you find a need and you close against it. That works, and it has a cost — the energy spent converting the unconvinced, and the slow distortion of building for whoever can be talked into staying.
Generative Economics describes the other mode. Instead of selling into need, you broadcast a clear signal of what you are and what you are for, and you let alignment do the sorting. The aligned move toward you under their own power. The misaligned move on. Nothing is spent holding them.
This only becomes possible at a threshold — when you can survive the people who leave. Below that threshold, selling is rational; you cannot yet afford to lose anyone. Above it, selling becomes the expensive habit you no longer need. The book is about that threshold, and the economic loop that opens once you cross it.
The gate
The entry condition has a name: Affordability-to-Walk — AtW. It is the measure of how many no's you can absorb without harm. AtW sits upstream of every other move. When it is high, a signal is enough; need-based selling becomes optional. When it is low, you are still bound to convert, because every departure costs more than you can carry.
Cross the gate and a self-generative loop opens. Alignment compounds: the people who arrive aligned refer people who arrive aligned, and the value generated funds a higher AtW, which raises the standard of who you can afford to keep. The loop feeds itself. That is the generative part.

The nature of generation
Production can be managed. Generation cannot.
Production operates inside the capture loop — it meets needs, handles wants, fulfills desires. It is what the commercial system is designed to do, and it does it well. This is not an indictment. It is a description. The system assumes, correctly for most, that no one is sovereign. It acts accordingly.
Generation is different in kind, not in degree. It is the self-emergent property of sovereign operational engineering — the result of timeline engineering, field engineering, and authority engineering practiced as a single discipline. What emerges is not a product. It is not a service. It is a sovereign being capable of reality authorship.
Sovereyn value generated has properties that production cannot replicate: it operates above the level of needs, wants, and desires. It compounds without ego. It creates categories that did not exist before the Emgagemint™ began.
The ticket in is not intelligence or ambition. It is completion. Get your needs met, your wants handled, your desires fulfilled — not as a destination, but as a precondition. Commerce is, in this sense, a training ground. Most people do not graduate. Most people do not know graduation is possible. But the gate exists. And sovereign beings, once through it, can do nothing else.
